UPDATE: I’m hosting the March carnival and the topic is Your Favorite Beach(es) in Europe. The deadline of submission is March 3, midnight Central European Time. The other guidelines below apply to the March Carnival as well. Thanks!

In October I will be hosting the monthly blog carnival aptly called Carnival of Europe to help promote European destinations and provide readers with varied content from amazing bloggers in the blogosphere.

The blog carnival will highlight current articles focused on destination guides, European travel tips, photo diaries, food porn and lots of interesting things Europe.

So if you’re a blogger publishing an article about Europe this September and would like to participate, read on!

If you’re a reader, watch out when it comes out in October! Follow along in RSS, Facebook or Twitter so you don’t miss anything.

What is a blog carnival?

There is so much stuff in the blogosphere and finding interesting stuff is hard. A Blog Carnival typically collects together links pointing to blog articles on a particular topic. A Blog Carnival is like a magazine. It has a title, a topic, editors, contributors, and an audience (in our case, we’re focusing on European travel). Editions of the carnival typically come out on a regular basis (in our case, every first week of the month). Each edition is a special blog article that consists of links to all the contributions that have been submitted, often with the editors opinions or remarks.

How can I join?

It’s very easy.

Email the article to djyabis@dreameurotrip.com with the URL, title and a one-sentence summary what the blog post is about. Please use Blog Carnival as your email subject.

That’s it!

What are the guidelines?

Please make sure that your post meets the following criteria:

  1.  The post must be related to travel in Europe.
  2. The post must be published in the current month (in our case, September 2012).
  3. Only posts from independent blogs will be accepted. No corporate/commercial blogs.

When is the deadline of submission?

The deadline of submission will close on September 30 at 12 noon Paris time (GMT+1) and the carnival post linking to all the submissions will be published on the first week of October.

I will organize the submission into categories like Destination Guide, Photo Diaries, Food Porn, European Travel Tips etc.

So that’s it? What should I do when the carnival post is out in October? (Carnival Etiquette)

Since this carnival was created to promote and highlight everything European travel and to help promote the blogger’s work and genius to a wider audience, it would be great if carnival participants (a.k.a. you) can do the following:

  1.  Link back to Dream Euro Trip (http://www.dreameurotrip.com) in your blogpost (Example: This is my entry for Carnival of Europe hosted by DJ Yabis at Dream Euro Trip.)
  2. Share the carnival post on social media once it is out (Make it viral and we all win.)
  3. Read, comment on and share posts published in the carnival (It would be boring if we won’t interact right?)

Awesome! I’m in!

Now go write an epic article about Europe and send them in. To be notified when the Carnival of Europe is published, subscribe to the RSS feed or like Dream Euro Trip on Facebook or Twitter. I will follow back.

I can’t wait to receive and read all your submissions. Thanks to Andrea of Destination Europe for giving me the chance to host the next carnival!

If you have questions, feel free to comment and I’ll answer them asap.

It’s all happening!
