Let’s take a break from travel and let’s talk about something more important and bigger than us. The six-minute film footage below is a shocking, hypnotic and grotesque dose of reality of how unsustainable demand and overconsumption look like. Word of caution: You will most likely feel shocked, saddened, horrified and feel all other extreme mixed emotions while watching the clip.
I personally feel so sick and shocked right now. There are so many issues and realities that the clip brings to light. I had to pause at some point while watching it because it was just too much. It obviously brought many questions in my mind: What has happened to us? How greedy have we become? How can corporations allow this to happen – to both the animals being bred and to the people working in these factories? How much of those meat are being thrown because they expired or were not bought? But this are just minor details. The main question is WHY WHY WHY?
The clip is from the film Samsara, a 2011 documentary film directed by Ron Fricke.
